Heimfinder NRW: Simple search for a care home

With Heimfinder NRW (Home Finder), citizens can easily and quickly search for available short-term and permanent care places throughout the state of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW). This makes it easier to find a care place, even in difficult times.

The Heimfinder NRW makes the care structure more transparent for citizens.

The system is an individual solution for easily finding free care places in NRW for the Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Affairs in NRW and was developed on behalf of
d-NRW AöR.

Basis of the Heimfinder NRW

Heimfinder NRW obtains the data on available care places and the respective care facilities in NRW via an open data interface of the PfAD.wtg specialized procedure. Care facilities in NRW use the specialized procedure to report their vacant and available places on a daily basis, thus fulfilling their legal obligation.

The components, modules and libraries used in the system of the individual solution are exclusively open source-based. The open data interface is published under Open.NRW and can be used freely.

Daily updated data: Accessible at any time

Heimfinder NRW offers up-to-date, comprehensive and nationwide information on available short-term and permanent care places in care facilities. Citizens can view contact details of the facilities in order to get in touch with them.

They also have the freedom to choose between the web application via common web browsers or the app (Apple Store, Google Play Store) and can therefore use the Heimfinder NRW anywhere and at any time.
